iMONITRAF! Annual Report for 2025 is out!
iMONITRAF! publishes Annual Report 2025 and launches new cooperation phase
The Alpine regions continue to face growing pressures from rising traffic volumes, complex EU‑level policy developments, and the complexities of accelerating shift towards clean road and rail transport. With its newly signed Partnership Agreement 2026–2028, iMONITRAF! strengthens its role as the central cooperation platform for coordinated action of regions along the major Alpine transit corridors.
The Annual Report 2025 provides an overview of key developments in transport and environmental indicators, highlights the network’s work on updating the iMONITRAF! Policy Pathway, and reviews major EU dossiers such as the Greening Freight Package, the Weights & Dimensions Directive and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation. A strong focus lies on understanding how these initiatives affect the level playing field between transport modes and technologies.
The report also summarises the latest regional best practices and policy measures, including efforts to expand charging infrastructure for zero‑emission trucks, further strengthen rail freight, manage seasonal traffic peaks and enhance public transport across the Alpine regions.
The new cooperation phase will put particular emphasis on updating the monitoring system, refining the Policy Pathway with a stronger focus on clean technologies, and improving knowledge exchange and coordination across corridors.
